Thinking of getting an interesting classic estate - needs to pull my sons kart box trailer, keep up with modern traffic and be reliable - thinking triumph 2000 initially, love the S1 XJ6 but that avon conversion is hideous.?

Don't fancy a moggy estate or anything too bland (i.e. marina/cortina estate) - budget around 2-3k - any ideas? tax free would be a bonus

Yep.

Could do with a little tidying, but it's within budget and would look well after a minimum of work. smile

Your first choice is close but dont get the 2000 go for the 2.5PI estate

Had one years ago wish I had kept it now......... but then it ended up with a Rover V8, basically the same conversion as the Stag, its an ich you just have to scratch !!

Magnum 2.3 - lovely shape with the long curved rear quarter windows.

Even better in Droopsnoot guise.

Or Cortina Mk2 Gt with modern engine - 24v 2.9?

Scimitar Gte early model with the black plastic seats and overdrive.

Granada Ghia X late 80's model

How often do these things come up for sale though?
Saw a lovely silver Droopsnoot estate in Bishop's Stortford last year. My jaw dropped seeing it, as it must be nearly 20 years since seeing one.

Couldn't even guess a value for a Droopsnoot estate. £3K? £5K? £7k? confused

Hmm - more options than I'd thought of.
Not sure I'd fancy towing long distances in the herald as nice as it looks
Scimitar sounds good although not really the space of a true estate
