Can't comment on that one but this www.tresanton.com is where we're booked into and it looks the business.

A friend of mine owns and runs this place

He's a petrolhead and claims to be friends with Chris Harris, but we think he makes the last bit up wink

The scarlet has a vert good restaurant but would recommend the Watergate Bay Hotel a few miles further down the coast near Newquay. It is a great family hotel.

tresanton is good but expensive.

in st ives try blue hayes or primrose valley - both have parking which is safe enough esp blue hayes which is prob the cleanest best run place i've been to.

Not a hotel but my one and only B&B experience was at "The Old Chapel House" and it was excellent - really great hosts.

Thought it might be worth a mention for future searches, "Room 1" is a must though.

Stayed here a number of times and it's been superb each time. Okay it's not the cheapest and you'll prob do ton in the restaurant with wine but seriously I'd be amazed if you found something to grumble about. I've visited plenty of £180 per night hotels and been bitterly disappointed. pay £250 at Tresanton and be happy.

I'll post a couple of pics later.
