Hi Guys

New soon to be Elise 111s owner here. Have been getting various insurance quotes from the main companies but not suprisingly, these seem to be extremely high. Can anyone point me in the right direction for sensible quotes? Ta

Try Tesco or Barclaycard

what do you call high? What age/NCB/area do you live etc

Tried Adrian Flux? I've been with them since I got my Elise three years ago.

im with elephant.co.uk. Try them first then play them off with Admiral (who are the same company).

I was with Adrian Flux but they quoted £400 more than my cheapest quote for some reason and couldnt match the price.

Have fun!

Thanks very much everyone. I've had quotes at well over £1000 which is a bit rich for a 30 year old with a few years ncb. Will try as suggested though - cheers.

Just to add my comments

Elephant.co.uk are covering me - £800 fully comp

Age:23
Occupation:engineer
NCB:5 years

Car is garaged and has the Cat 1 alarm/immob (it also has a tracker but elephant said it would not reduce the price).

Hope this helps.

Once again, just a big thanks to everyone who's replied; what a great forum this is. On the case with the various insurance companies and will hopefully be able to help some of you guys out in the future once I am a fully fledged owner!

I bought my elise S2 in april 02 and have just had to let it go because of increasing premiums. Last year had no problems and cost £850 5 years ncb age 27. This year most companies saying need to be over 30 and has gone up to well over a grand. 1 years ncb more and a year older and some quotes were £3600

I bought my s2 elise 7 mounth ago and after the despair
of getting quoted £7000 a year and the suprising statement of one insurer of "you have to at least have sports car experince for 3 years" i got 2 noumbers from the dealer that i bought the car from which were tesco and elipant.I went with eliphant as they quotedme £1300 for 1 year full comp wich when i am 26 with no noclaims bonus (sponged off my dad for years) it was not to bad.Although my brother is with tesco and drives a moded mr2 (i know i keep telling him its not in the same class) and he say the tesco gave him the better deal.
hope this is of help.

Just re-insured 01 elise S2. Quotes for in the drive 29 year old with wife and dad on policy, full no claims 12000 miles a year - east lancs.

Direct line (with tracker) 1299.90

Tesco (with tracker but maybe discussion) 977.55

Elephant 1124.55

Adrian flux 770

Adrian flux sent an email quoting 700, keep an eye on them as the excess was 450 and no breakdown or european cover (20 quid a week if needed) no no-claims protection in this either. 770 includes no claims protection but 500 quid excess. I took the Adrian Flux policy but am curious what the other insurers quotes would be with that excess. To be honest I wouldn't claim on my policy for anything less than 500 anyway for the hassle...
