What's considered the best way to get leather that's become grubby with age cleaned up again?

Specifically a very light silver/grey leather driving seat that's just suffering 50K miles of grime rather than stains or whatever.

Gliptone Liquid Leather cleaner GT12.

(No, I don't work for them.)

PS. I'm waiting for the Meguires and AutoGlym fans to turn up shortly. If any do it is because they haven't tried GT12 yet....

That's their USP, but the real benefit of Gliptone stuff is that it doesn't clog up any stitching or perforations in your leather with white residue or contain any solvents like most other leather treatments.

I'd vouch for the Gliptone too, it's worked wonders on the leather of a number of cars for me.

Believe me it works...! I don't know how.
Because it is abrasive. It doesn't clean - it scrubs.
