Hi,

Does anyone know of a company that will hire a supercar (or even a Porsche 911) to a 19 year old?

cheers

I reckon you're out of luck to be honest. I'm not 100% sure but I think these supercar companies (which are normally a minimum age of at least 25 or 30) used to allow younger people to rent the cars but they had to sort out there own insurance, however there was a couple serious or fatal accidents and now they don't do it anymore.

As I said, I'm not 100% sure if that’s true but I do recall a couple people telling me that. Still you may as well ring a couple companies and explain the situation and see if they'll accommodate you.

Agree with lambo xx...I think potentially you still could hire one but the cost of the insurance (and therefore cost of hire) would be sky high
Wouldn't it be cheaper to try one of these Ferrari/Porsche/Lambo Driving Experiences? I'm not sure about minimum age requirements there though

I looked extensively when I was a bit younger and no one will rent you a proper supercar until your 25 minimum and most of the time 30. Things like Cayman, M3 etc you can hire if your 21 and look really hard.

I'm 21 this year. scratchchin I don't think I look hard enough though. What do you suggest... hood up, tattoos, take a vicious dog with me? Taking a weapon might be a bit too far.

You actually be better off buying a supercar for a few months and selling it on. It would work out a lot cheaper!

if only it was this easy.

Or you're best off holding fire and then either waiting till you're old enough or the money you would have saved investing in a supercar car club

Sorry for the grammatical error, thanks for pointing it out, much appreciated. Good luck with your car rental.

e25 will let you from 21 subject to certain rules and meeting their criteria etc; I haven't done it but believe that's what I found out when I looked into it (I'm still under 25).

He's not a student - he's a chef and wants to use all his spare cash to drive a "supercar"!

The insurance would be astronomical for a 19yr old on a supercar.

Do you know what the criteria is? Just staggered use starting in the lowest group or something? I'm looking to join in the summer.

It's in the pdf document of terms you can get from somewhere on their website but the main things I remember are that it's subject to taking their training course and being approved on an individual basis and they also look at the cars you own and use regularly too so from that front you would be fine.

Lord knows how those boys do it. I live in Leeds, aged 23 with a clean license for nearly 4 years and I've looked everywhere for a decent "performance" car hire. Ideally after a c63 amg or a m3 but can't find anything for anyone my age
