Picked it up yesterday, and only just getting to grips with it really. It's a brilliant car, but I'm not a good enough driver to really exploit it just yet. In the meantime, some pictures:

Dealer's photo.

Safely at home on the drive. It will be living a carport under a full cover at our new house when we move in next month.

Taken on a hoon through the New Forest.

Future plans are to get my personal plate onto it, some metal window winders (plastic ones are comically fragile. I've seen Pez dispensers more solidly built) and of course a PH sticker. Power, brakes etc. are all fine for now, thankyou very much!

As I said last night, I keep having to look out of the window and pinch myself. I own an Elise!

I know for some people they could just pick up a brand new one with pocket money, but I've worked my arse off for the last five years saving up for this (well, this, and a deposit on a house) and managed to get something I could only dream of when I was a kid.

I always wanted a 205 GTI as I knew that was a realistically attainable goal. I never dreamed I'd be so lucky as to have a Lotus. I will cherish it and relish every drive.

Looks fantastic, bet you're chuffed to bits with it! I keep looking at these, and I'm trying my best to convince myself I need another car....the S1 is a prettier car than the S2 IMO.

I'm still a little bit precious about it at the moment, so not for a while. Might do a Carlimits day or something first.

Looks nice.

Head on over to seloc.org and also book yourself a 'walshy' day... Carlimits.com - will really get you to learn the limits of the car and your driving

Enjoy.....

Congratulation dude! The day I picked my Elise up (although lardy S2 111R) was one of the greatest of my life. You'll love every minute, but you won't stop wanting it to be faster...

Great stuff.

Two things;

1) I don't think I'll ever be a good enough driver to approach what an Elise can actually do.

2) I sometimes spot mine in a window and think "I wish I owned one of them...". Then I remember...

Tut, tut. They are driving lights which only come on in conjunction with the main beam and have no separate switch.

Congrats HBM. Glad you finally bagged one.

They were actually on for a reason - I was flashing and beeping for ponies to get out of the way as we pulled over.

Here they are getting massively in the way:

Yep, that's me. Not posted on there a lot recently as all my r/c cars are packed away for the house move.

Still hoping to finish my Sand Scorcher though!
