DIY ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder).
Discussion
Is it possible to acquire ADD? Whereas I used to be able to work through a project (well okay, maybe the finishing touches didn't always get done right away) I find myself flitting from task to task and really not enjoying the whole DIY thing as much as I used to.
For example, I'm decorating the hall, stairs and landing at the moment. Started stripping the paper months ago but lost interest somewhat when the plaster skim coat kept blowing. Restarted recently but find that when I'm doing something like filling the walls I'll move onto something else after anything between ten minutes and an hour. Maybe rub down some paintwork for a bit then decide to clean the UPVC door frame. Get bored half way through and start tinkering with the bannisters that are going to be replaced.
According to one source a sympton of ADD is failing to listen to others so if you post and I don't reply it's official

I find i do this too, sack off one of the crap jobs for something which is better, until you realise it isn't better its just as s
t and move onto something else.
I am a panicky person though so do make a point of doing the s
t otherwise i am well aware that things can very easily get left, in some peoples cases that can be for ever.

I started then when I went to restart I noticed something needed done in the lounge, then the garden, then in the barn and I still havn't got back round to it. I'll have to do it soon or the masking tape will be a nightmare to get off the carpet.

Hall stairs & landing made me chuckle as thats exactly what I have been doing for the last couple of weeks on & off. For example, I'm decorating the hall, stairs and landing at the moment. Is Wilma on your case about not getting it finished ?

Thing is, with some help I'd get stuck in and finish the job. Maybe I should hire one of these Polish chappies to come and keep me company.
I think its a case of 'Well I've almost finished, another two hours should do it, and I can do it any time I like so I'll go and do something else. It's not a question of acronyms, it's a question of willpower, that's all.
