Ogg portable players
Discussion
Hello,
after a little bit of advice really. About 6 months ago I lost my Cowon IAudio D2. Which I'm still annoyed about, I have no idea where it is.
My brother gave me his spare Ipod touch, and I am very dissapointed with it. For a start, all of my music (around 60gbs) is in ogg q9 or q10, so I'm using borrowed 320kbs mp3's. When listening through my sennhiesser cx500s it is fine, although the sound tunability is pants. But I always used to listen to my Grado sr125i's, but since using the iPod, I haven't been using them because they just sound very flat and constricted.
So, my question. As you can't get the D2 anymore, what ogg player would you recomend? Budget wise, we are looking at around £120, but if the perfect one is found I'd be prepared to go up to about £150. The bigger the memory the better. If possible a memory expansion slot too as 16gb is soon taken up with Q9/10 ogg files.
Many thanks.

Yes, I have been looking at the current range of Cowon products, and there isn't anything that seems as flexible as the D2 for a similar price. I shall keep an eye out for a second hand one in case one pops up at a good price.
I have just had a look through finlandias' reveiws on the stickied thread and actually the Chuwi P7 looks like quite a good bet. Still lots more looking around to be done, but does anyone know a UK supplier of the Chuwi?

I've got a Clip and a D2, both Rockboxed, and if anything I would say the Clip gives a nicer sound. It doesn't quite go as loud as the D2, but it sounds more "beefy" and has less bass roll off.
If you used the D2 with BBE on, the 5 band fully parametric eq and crossfeed settings in Rockbox will sound just as good after a tweak.
Or, you could wait until later today, or tomorrow, for my review of the Cowon J3
The J3 is a tad pricey, but it's well worth the asking price.

Just a bit of an update. Had a look around and decided I was going to get the sansa fuze with a memory card. I have just got a phonecall from my parents saying they have found my D2! And it still has battery life in it!
It was under a dust sheet covering a sofa in the spare room at their house. I must have put it there when I was decorating in the summer. As the doors have only just been replaced, they are getting everything sorted and there it was.
Needless to say I'm well chuft. Happy as larry!
