Time to acquire GPS signal

I have a Garmin nuvi 1340. It takes about three minutes to acquire the GPS signal. Is this normal?

my old navman used to get signal in 20 seconds, now it takes a few minutes

My Garmin 1490T only takes about 30 seconds. My old 'New Road Angel' used to take up to 5 minutes and my old Pogodrive could take up to 10 when it worked properly, and then in it's latter days of use I was lucky to get any lockk.
