09 Focus 1.6 zetec (100ps) - couple of questions

Hi there,

I'm after some help with 2009 Focus 1.6 zetec petrol (100ps).

Does anyone know if you can disable the heated front and rear screens from turning on automatically? It was 5 deg C this morning and the car decided the screens needed heating despite them being perfectly clear It's more of an anoyance than a problem but it is bugging me. I have a feeling it is dependent on where the fans are directed but i've not sussed it out .

Second issue is the car seems to jerk ever so slightly when going from a very light throttle to say a quarter open or more. This is more apparent (but does it in a straight line too) when going round smaller roundabouts (2nd gear, 10mph ish) and then when you take the exit it and open the throttle there is a noticeable change in engine behaviour. I've tried turning the ESP off but it is still the same. It feels like a mapping issue to me but I was wondering if this was a 'characteristic' more than a problem. Any ideas?

The car is going for its 2nd service on Friday so I'll mention it then - I just wanted a heads up if this was normal or not?

Cant you just turn the heated screns off via the button on the dash? The air-con comes on automatically when you turn the blowers onto the windscreen aswell which is very anoying aswell so have to turn that off everytime.

You can turn them off via the dash but I don't know why they come on in the first place. This car is my wife's car but my focus ST doesn't do this. In the zetec it turns them on as soon as you start the engine which is what I'd like to disable.

My Focus ST just doens the air-con one.
