Rattle when setting off
Discussion
I'm sure the title helps a lot (
) but I can't really offer a lot of info yet but when setting off with the window open I hear a rattle sound from the engine bay, I would say from close to the bulk head and low down but you never know as noise travels, which then stops as you hit say 10mph. Doesn't seem to happen in subsequent gears although exhaust noise could be hiding it.
Open to ideas for things to check/look at as I am hiring a ramp next weekend to look at rear brakes/chassis etc so it would be a good time to fettle something if it is simple.
Look forward to any ideas.
Cheers, David

most likely the exhaust downpipes hitting the chassis as the engine twists. Don't think it'll be pinking, thats a different sound, and it would be worse in higher gears..
You could slacken off the engine mounts onto the chassis and ease the engine over a fractionto get more clearance...
Good luck!

Thanks to all for the comments. Definitrly not pinking, I know that noise. Exhaust sounds possible so I'll have a look. You could slacken off the engine mounts onto the chassis and ease the engine over a fractionto get more clearance...

Andy390, noticed this noise only after I did my last track day. Do you think it possible it could have moved slightly in its engine mounts??
Thanks for any thoughts.
