Fellow Chimaera/Griff owners have just seen a tuscan racer (rover) 4.5 bottom end for sale on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2475176720&category=10414) and it's in Newry. Could be just the thing for a project! two days left to bid

Markh - look at the other V8 goodies the same seller has for sale on e-bay as well - the twin plenum V8 injection system currently at £399 (reserve met) is very desirable - stick that on your existing engine with a Bosch Air Flow Meter and you're well away. Two days left as well.

Hi Jigs
yes I saw that, any idea which Bosch Air flow meter I need. I won't be able to make the trackday next weekend (bloody work)but was looking forward to having some fun with my winter project and claiming a few 'scalps' (watch out 500's and the like)

Markh - Mark Adams on 01694 720144 is your man for a Bosche Air Flow Meter - I believe he does an exchange £100 plus your old Air flow Meter but don't quote me - as you know I have a good spare AFM if you're interested.

Stu - yeah I'm off this week - a bit of gardening, a bit of garage tidying, a bit of spring cleaning, a bit of fiddling at cars (new dash and Motolita to fit to my TR6 before the MOT and resurrect my Alfa Spider rebuild) and a lot of blasting around in the Griffith - oh and a bit of PHing in between! Hmm a week might not be enough - make that a fortnight!

thanks for the offer but I think I need the bosch unit to make the most of the other work, I will be seeing Mark Adams next month for the final set up, so will check this out

been a busy winter, wilwood four pot brakes, Nitron shocks (these were fitted and set up by Steve Guglielmi) and lets just say it goes a bit better now (as Trevor and his T350C will testify) can't wait till the next track day (hope Colin can swing the one in July)

Come on now, how did the trackday go and are there any photos? As Trevors (wee-big) brother, he has not yet deemed me worthy of a phone call as yet. Although I dare say I'll get one as I've forgotten to post him something quite important.

Last time I was talking to the bro' he was complaining about bottoming out on roads the Tuscan never had a problem with. Guess keeping the Nitrons was the right thing to do.

Don't think he was impressed though,when a certain Mr Samuelson suggested it was his style of driving and not a shock problem, that was causing the bottoming out.

Some people are never happy - it's obviously Trevor's driving style - bet Louise doesn't have that problem - with all that poke he should be skimming from crest to crest and missing out the bottoming-out bits.
I didn't make it to Kirkistown yesterday either - last minute visitors (disadvantage of living in Newcastle on Bank Holidays) Just had a blast over the mountains later on.

It was an AWESOME DAY............

It was the greatest track day we have had at Kirkistown in 2 years.

It was a great day, only let down for me by not having my TVR with me , but I enjoyed the day all the same. !!!

Hi guys

Would totally agree with colin it was a great track day. As a track day novice it was a bit daunting sitting at the start line and being waved on. But after a few laps and an ever increasing speed up the back straight ( went from 85mph the first time to 110 mph the last run )I started to really see what the car could do and feel how well it could handle. Cant wait for the next one in august. The griff wants to growl again.

Yep another "track day" convert, as i am sure you all will agree
it is the only place to realy let fly in safety
Maby some of the "arm chair drivers"will take the plunge.YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE
But I am definitely not bringing the 500 out as it is not as embarasing when "the flying chim" is passing everying in sight (cant wait to be a passenger Mark)

this could be a while, last friday a 7.5 tonne truck mashed the rear of it, was sitting at the rundabout at Sprucefield and it right up the arse.

Alan you seem pretty well informed!.............. It was a bloody tow truck for a well known body repair shop! and they have give me Fial Punto in exchange, seems a bargin.

Sorry to rub salt in the wounds, I just thought that if anyone should be aware of accidents and how to avoid them a driver of a tow truck involved in body repair should right up there near the top.
