Dear all, it's my brother's 40th birthday very soon and we'd like to get him a day driving one, ideally a full size engine. I have googled and they are between £350 - £400 so it's a bit of our price range, does anyone know if there's anything cheaper out there from their own experience?

I did PH search but had no luck

Thanks guys

£225 on the East Somerset, and that's a nice line.

There are various price options at Mid Hants which is a nice line as well.

Also there is Didcot Railway Centre which is cheaper but it does have a smaller line. Loads of stuff to look at there though, huge engine shed and lots of exhibits all over the site.

I've done the driving day at Didcot and drove their 8F heavy frieght engine 3822. I think this year they are using their ROD Mogul or one of the pannier tanks for driving days.
