Hi

One of my jobs on the cars today was to look at the front brakes on the SEAC, especially as I don't find them very positive.
I decided that the pads didn't look brilliant so it's time to change them!
Now this car is only used at weekend (Weather permitting) so it doesn't get a lot of use, so what do you lot recomend for replacment's (Part num etc would be a help)

I've been using Ferodo pads for years. Currently DS2500 both front and rear. Fine on the road, and copes with the odd trackday. If your calipers are indeed the same as the 400/450 (i.e. Princess) let me know and I'll look up the part numbers.

Ferodo Rear # is FCP815H anf front is FCP832H ('H' is for DS2500, remove the 'H' for standard DS or add 'R' for DS3000 Race pads), they are a lot more expensive than standard ones though.

Hi

Just had a good laugh, as I tried to order some pads from my local factor. He could not identify which brake pad shape a 450 SEAC has! All he could come up with was the standard280i/350 pad!
Let alone try and find a set of mintex or ferodo part numbers! He then tried to sort a set of EBC greens and the same problem, they list the 450 SE and SEAC the same as a 280i/350i confused

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

idea So were is the best place to get some urgently and part numbers etc.

Do these places not have a book of brake pad shapes in full size, my local garage has these kinf of books from the agents and its dead easy to get the right parts.

I use mintex all round and think they are prity good.
Sorry no part numbers but you should ask if they have there book to check the shape. Take a pad out and take it with you they should be able to help.

Haven't looked at any numbers , plenty of wear left , and they are very effective at hauling down speed for rounderbouts/idiots etc .

Using mintex M1155s on mine, they're brill and no real problems with stopping with cold brakes either.

Part number is MLB52-M1155 for the fronts (princess caliper). As for the rears i've wanged the box so i can't help you there.

Green stuff pads are also useful .. pretty good performance and very little brake dust. Which is very useful if you have paid a fortune having the OZ wheels refurbished.

Tarox were superb but I have not seen any for sale for a while.

Mintex 1144 on mine too. Much better braking feel. More dust though than the EBC, and they squeal at low speeds, which is annoying, and nothing I've done has made it go away. Anyone else found this?

My Tarox used to squeal like a pig boy when really hot and used to scare young kids.

Hi

Well fitted a new set of front pads today (Just in time the old ones were near life's end) they are a lot better, but still not as good as my Cerbera!

One thing I did notice was the inside pistons on both calipers were very hard to pust back!
Has any body had the same problem or is it a faulty I need to sort out?
