...an E92 M3 biggrin

Quite a large step up on the ladder but ill give you some back story,

The Saxo was my run around car for the last month or two while i waited for my Audi A5, i was told a delivery date of March, then it got pushed back to June, i got pretty miffed off at this point and decided to cancel my order but not just because of the delays, The other reason being is that after talking to a couple of people it kind of sunk in just what kind of commitment i was making, spending all that money on what is basically just a FWD Coupe, it wouldnt be very fun and id probably get pretty damn bored of it after a few weeks

It wasnt so bad but i did loose a bit of my deposit which was a bit of a kick in the teeth

Then last Saturday i was driving past BMW in Stevenage and thought i'd go take a look for a laugh incase they had a nice 335i or something i could look into, well after taking a look we found they had an 09 plate M3 in the exact spec id go for if i was looking for one, black paint, black leather and the 7 speed DCT, so for a laugh i got them to quote me

After about an hour of talking and going through some things i went away to do some sums, then this Saturday while driving past again i found myself in BMW glacing over it again, then in a moment of madness i thought "fk it, you only live once" and i found myself giving them a £5k deposit

I pick her up after a valet on the 4th of Feb

Dead chuffed smile

At 22 I had an N plate 318i with 120k on the clock in (then) no so desirable white!! Thought I had done well at the time - maybe not!!

Now at 34 I seem to spent a lot of my time moaning about how much petrol has gone up since I started driving and why heated seats are essential!!

22 and a new M3!! Damm I'm in the wrong job.

What ever Insurance company you use is going to pay their staff a hefty bonus this year, but who cares you. Enjoy mate and show us some pictures.

Hadn't thought of insurance - given what my company are trying to screw out of me for my cars (34, no points and 8 years NCB) it won't be cheap!!

BMW is £1000 with a £1000 excess (no choice, due to my age)
Saxo VTR run around is £600 with no excess

Sounds good value to me - SwiftCover have sent me my renewals (they mirror NCB on both cars which are insured for business use as well as personal). Based on up to 20k in the BMW and 6k miles in the Porsche.

No claims, accidents or endorsements this year and I now have a total of 8 years NCB. I asked them about it and got a standard "rising cost of claims / uninsured drivers etc etc" response.

E60 up from £600 to £970.
997 up from £800 to £1580

I know - they came through 2 days apart and I honestly thought they had made a mistake. Cars are a year older and therefore worth a little less, other than that no changes to the policies at all and I have no claims, points etc etc.

Lube up.

Got my renewal for my E46 M3 last december and it had gone up from £700 to £960!! Afer shopping around i got a quote for just under £600 so was pretty happy with that.

I read somewhere recently (maybe on here somewhere) that the recent floods in Australia were to blame for the rising insurance premiums here and indeed around the world.

Probably more like they are just using that as an excuse to arse rape us even more!

Excellent choice. I went from a diesel SEAT to M3 at 26! Did take a little getting used to! All I can say is get it onto a track where the car really comes alive.
