my car battery was working perfectly, but last night i thought that i would trickle charge it through the cigarette lighter socket as i had not used the car for about 2 weeks
to do this i had to turn the ignition key to posn 1

this morning the battery would not turn the starter motor over

i am currently trickle charging it by connecting crockdile clips directly to the battery terminals

-what are the chances of reviving the battery?

-if trickle charging fails, but the car can be jumpstarted, can the battery be kept going by giving it a good drive for 1/2 an hour, or do you think that it will have been damaged such that it will no longer hold the charge for any period of time
any suggestions as to what else to do, other than get a new battery

-finally, if i have to get a new battery, do you have any brand and supplier recommendations

I think it depends on how old it is 4+ years and its on borrowed time!!!
maybe worth taking the caps out if you can to check the electrolite and if its just realy flat then trickle charge it for about 24 hours, if you need a new one, yuasa, bosch, varta ...
