Panasonic P50VT20 HDMI PC issue
Discussion
I have just taken delviery of a P50VT20B and it is all up and working exept for my PC connection to the TV via HDMI. I can have either teh TV or teh Monitor hooked up. I can however have my old TV and monitor hooked up together. The graphics card is a NVidia 260 GTX, so there shouldn't be any problems with it and it still works on the old setup.
When I change to the HDMI port on the TV the screen briefly changes to 1080p in the corner then just sits blank with wide in teh corner.

Doesn't the NVidia 260 GTX use an adapter to conenct to a HDMI port? Is your PC outputting 1920x1080 to the HDMI port? My Samsung laptop (also with a nVidia graphics chip) seems to do this automatically but do all PC/laptops? Was your 'old' setup also using HDMI?When I change to the HDMI port on the TV the screen briefly changes to 1080p in the corner then just sits blank with wide in the corner.
My ols detup was for 720p and it still works.
If I disconnect the monitor and plug the TV in it works. If I swap the connectors over ( both are DVI though one has a DVI-HDMI convertor) then the monitor works but the TV doesn't.
It worked for about 10 minutes earlier in the day then just stopped. When it was working I could see the TV in Windows, now it's not there. I;ve tried different HDMI cables and ports too.

Nope. I can't get any output on the display. If I only plug in the TV it display's the desktop. However I tried booting with just the TV connected and shortly after the login dialogue box appeared the screen went blank.
When I select HDMI4 for teh PC 1080p / 50Hz appears in the top lefthand area of the screen then it jumps to 16:9 then wide, but does not display an image during this.
I'm wondering if the TV is sensing something outwith its range.
Any suggestions?

Possibly. Check and see what resolution the graphics card is attempting to output via HDMI. I run my PC through my G20 band that defaults to "PC" input but When I select HDMI4 for teh PC 1080p / 50Hz appears in the top lefthand area of the screen then it jumps to 16:9 then wide, but does not display an image during this.

I am connectioning via VGA.
No. You don't need to re-install Windows, just sort out the display driver problem. It sounds like it's having a nightmare trying to work out which monitor is what. I presume you're trying to run 'clone' and not stretch desktops? Uninstall the driver, download the latest one from here and try once more. I had this with nVidia drivers and then for some reason it worked the next time.

Nope, I was running an extended desktop. ALready tried the new driver. NExt step is to remove the driver completely (which is a real pain as I need to remove the other NVidia stuff too).Gassing Station | Home Cinema & Hi-Fi | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
