Getting to the Royal Albert Hall - Sunday

We've already been relieved of a large sum of cash to see cirque du soleil this weekend, so I'd rather not pay a load more for a train ticket for 2 adults/2 kids.
I was thinking maybe drive to a tube station and then get the tube in? Does anyone have any recommendations for stations or any other approaches I could try (Staying at home is apparently not an option!)

Pay & display bays south of Hyde Park are free parking on Sunday, as is p&d parking in the park so you could drive in. Check before you park to ensure the bay you are in is free on Sunday and is not a diplomatic bay (of which there are a significant number).

If you drive in you might want to be early to guarantee some free space availability.
Tube station options are a 5-10 minute walk away. High St Ken or South Ken. Or Knightsbridge at a pinch.

Your best bet is to drive there.
I normally drive up Exhibition Road (passed the Science Museum) and take a right at the end of the road on to the Kensington Road. As soon you turn into the road the Royal Albert Hall will be on your right but keeping driving down the Kensington Road for about 200/300meters until you see blue parking sign on your right hand side. This is called Prices Gate which is an underground car park.
The cost is about the same as all local car parks but this one is fairly secure. You do have to hand your keys over to them but it's filled with expensive/exotic/desirable cars so I've never had any problems with handing my car keys over to them.
One thing worth noting is that the speed bump on the entrance/exit ramp is a little on the steep side so if you have a low car, take it very slowly!

But I'd say it is not especially cheap for short visits. I only really know the day rate which is £28, but they are 24 hour manned.
I've had the Tiv in there without access issues too.
