liner distortion.

Just doing a dummy assembly of my rebuilt 4.5AJP. Fitted all new liners which measure perfectly round within 1/2 thou and 91mm diameter which is what it should be when not installed.
However when torqued down the liners distort by more than 4 thou. The distortion appears on all 8 cylinders and at the same place on each liner and is obviously caused by the clamping forces. whats worse is that the majority of the liner stays round and the distortion only occurs in a small section where the shoulder of the liner meets the block.
Did TVR hone the original liners in place using a dummy cylinder head / torque plate or did they just fit them and hope for the best!
I have access to a torque plate so will get the job done properly and hone them in situ.
