HELP!!! I rather stupidly managed to put the only key fob for my 156 sportwagon through the wash. It still flashes when I press the button, but it won't disarm the alarm.I have pulled out various fuses, but can't stop the alarm sounding as soon as I start the engine. is there a patent, foolproof (it would need to be!) method of disarming without the fob, or does it mean new keys and decoders etc.
Did mine a month or so back: it could be the key, still, so I'd suggest carefully taking it to bits, dry it, clean any dirt, replace the battery with a new one, try again. Worked fine with mine. The only tricky bits are taking the badge off to reveal the small screw beneath, making sure the spring doesn't hurl itself into oblivion, then carefully reassembling so it springs out again. It can be done such that it looks as it did before.
