throttle pedal travel

has anyone ever found a way to make the throttle pedal travel less? im a short arse and when jumping on the loud pedal I am verging on tip toe with the right foot

I know what you mean, I'm tall but still have to stick my leg/toes out to go full throttle as opposed to flexing my anxle - I don't think it gives me the same level of control.

I might look into different throttle cable cam.

No, its still a long way down, i drove mine from new for a week thinking god this is fast but not scary fast till I found another two inches of travel and nearly sh------t myself!!

The other potential problem with the throttle pedal is that there is no stop, so when it is all the way down all the load is on the end of the throttle spindle. I am considering putting a stop under the pedal to limit the transmitted load. Its no wonder they have a reputation for wearing out spindles and breaking cables.

Well i'm only a newbie to cerbs so perhaps I have the wrong impression but ACT make a throttle pot bearing upgrade for some reason. Given that most of these cars dont have starship mileage on them throttle bearing wear/throttle pot failures seem to be common and mention of spare throttle cables has been made a few times.

My cerb has a note on the service resords at less than 15k from new saying it had excessive play in the throttle spindles. Whereas my old triumph's carbs had to have new spindles to cure slight play after it had 140k miles on it in 30 years.

I thought about the leven adjustable option but what I would really like is less travel on the pedal, I know that tvr did this to try to offer more control over acceleration but I don't feel that I need that. If anyone can make a throttle cam Thingy whatchamacallit plus pedal stop I would most definitely pay for one

The bracket that holds the cable at the engine end also takes some grief if the throttle is pushed hard and the cable isn't perfectly adjusted to give Tmax when the pedal is buried in the carpet. It's not a common problem since most people don't have long enough legs Russellm managed it tho - he is tall enough. I pulled a muscle once trying to get full throttle
