Any ideas why this Sag hasn't sold?

The car is very clean and with only one owner and that mileage, would have thought that it would have been snapped up fairly quickly. Not the best of colours IMHO, which may be the problem.

I planned to go an look at this one myself a few months ago, but when I phoned them they said they had a buyer coming over from Australia in a couple of days, and I had the impression a deal may be in the offing, so decided not to travel the distance to view it.

nice colour though, and the interior is nice too.

Definately worth looking at I would say, as there are few decent interior/exterior coloured Sags up for sale. If you're serious, I would have an independent leak down test done though, preferably by STR8SIX.

I suspect the problem is finance. Without easy finance the market is restricted more to cash buyers, of which there are very few.

It is a very good car, though STR8SIX are a fair way from Sebring. From a personal point of view I'd speak to their mechanic (Matt) about it, though I can fully understand why you wouldn't in the interests of independance, Matt has looked after my TVRs for years and I trust his judgement implicity.

Sebring are also a little out in the sticks which does put a few people off.

I'm not suprised by some peoples sales patter!
I contacted a certain dealer a couple of years ago about looking and testing a couple of Chims. We drove the 100 miles on our day off and were almost escourted off the premises by the dealers hints of an important client arriving shortly! Couldn't even look at the back of the car or the near side because of how it was parked up and when I asked about a test drive was told that would require valeting the car again and was not an option. I even asked to see the car in daylight but that was too much to ask having given up my day off and a tank of petrol.
His loss my gain as the next place I headed for was David Gerald. Great guys - very relaxed, great car, low milage, good price, warrenty, extras A++. Very happy.

15,000 miles? Yeah, really high miles

There isn't likely to be much wrong with it assuming its not crashed or trashed. The clutch will either work or not work, the engine will either rattle and scare you into looking further or not. These cars are not that complicated, if all looks OK to a decent mechanic then the worst near-term cost is going to be a few bushes here and there or a clutch. Get a 12k service and MOT thrown into the sale for extra confidence.

Personally, I'd remove stickers hinting that it had been within 200 miles of the Nurburgring but otherwise it looks beautiful. I suspect it hasn't sold because I don't have the funds. But if the seller likes everything about his car except the lack of removable targa panels and is prepared to straight swap...

When I first spotted this in the classifieds I thought that wont be around long The only thing that would make it better would be all black leather.

I know what you mean but isn't it strange that some people could be put off by thinking that a high performance car might have been driven quickly by the previous owner?

Quite. But when buying used cars, I take my advice from Donald Rumsfeld: "There are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we do not know we don't know".

I always like to think that the previous owner of mine drove it like an old granny everywhere. Even though the dash suggested that he'd taken it upto 268mph
