Inspired by the BBC program Coast, among others, i've decided to start seeing some of the UK instead of traipsing off to the usual foreign holiday hotspots.

So, has anyone got any tips on what to see/do in the UK for a week? I was thinking on doing a bit of a round trip around the UK (or some of it), a day here, an overnight stay there etc.

All comments welcome.

Beauty of this country is that you can drive in any direction and will not be long before you stop, get out and say "wow".

Personally, you can't go wrong with North Yorks, Cumbria, South West and East Anglia - all great and all for different reasons.

Probably easier to list the bits to avoid.
