ARGH! Why why why don't people know how to use roundabouts?!
I was just damn near wiped out by some idiot in a Fiesta who got into the right hand lane at a roundabout, signalled right, but then when he got to the second exit (straight on) he signalled left and almost wiped me out, as i was also going to the second exit but was in the correct left hand lane.
The worst thing is, this happens at least once a fortnight, and you can tell that this is how they think roundabouts work, rather than just a last minute change of mind. I've got friends that do this and they honestly think this is how roundabouts work.
Just makes me so angry that i could have my car written off by some moron who couldn't even be bothered to listen up when their driving instructor told them how to use a roundabout.

Urgh, that's another thing. I try and stay calm whilst driving as i think an angry driver is a distracted driver, but its the fact they're so oblivious to what they're doing that ****s me off. They simply don't think they're doing anything wrong and it's the aggressive, young driver in the BMW who is at fault (as always!)king empty, no other bds there and they stop.f

I've had a couple of incidents of being alongside another car on a two lane roundabout, where the other car (to my left) suddenly decided they weren't going straight on after all, but going right instead.''Never ever be side by side with someone on a roundabout''.
The first one side-swiped me, denting my front wing nicely. The second one missed by a hair's breadth because I slammed the brakes on.
I now consciously avoid this situation.
There's a roundabout near me where alot of people seem to use the approaching right hand lane to go straight across! I have no idea why, but i'm about to cross the roundabout using the left lane and you can nearly always find that the idiot next to you in the rh lane will just cut across you as you are about to exit. People that 'straight line' a roundabout are also bloody annoying, fine if you check there's no-one around you but to ignorantly just pinch another car into the inside of the roundabout is just dangerous.

The only person that's really caught me out on a roundabout was a complete tit driving a Skoda estate: in a left-turn only lane, indicating left, he then decided to turn RIGHT, cutting across my path while STILL bloody indicating left
Seems to depend somewhat on the size of roundabout - say somewhere like Telford, most of the islands are very big which tempts people to use pretty much any lane for any exit, very annoying. People don't tend to be so bad at smaller islands as they're unlikely to be able to push/filter in or know they'll cause an accident or get grief from other drivers.
There are a lot who indicate right but go straight on (but using left hand lane), see a lot of older people doing this - thought I heard that this is how people were taught to navigate roundabouts years back?
Lastly the witless people who either stop or nearly stop at roundabouts despite it being clear, not wanting to be sexist but this is 95% women IME, the missus does it to an extent and I can't seem to get her out of the habit.

Where did this dangerous idea of indicating right to go straight on orginate from anyway? A couple of years ago I had never seen anybody do it, now it seems to be everywhere.
I'd be interested to hear from a BiB on this matter, so in the OP, assuming the third party hit the OP, I assume that the third party would be found at fault and be charged with something?

There are two things that annoy me at roundabouts. The first being people who have right of way i.e on your right hand side, but insist on stopping at the line and staring at you? I'm giving way to you, you idiot.
The second being the people who straddle the white lines as you are side by side? They are too busy trying to race/block you instead of staying in their lane.

A non-PH friend of mine was in my car when we went round a roundabout. I was taking the fourth exit, in the 4 o clock position. I signalled right, hugged the lane closest to the centre (can't decide whether it's the inside or outside!) until I got to the junction before mine, which would have been a 2 o clock from my point of entry. Cancelled my signal and moved into the middle lane, and as I went past the junction I signalled left, got into the outermost lane and took my exit (cancelling my signal after I'd come off). Mate then turns to me and says,
"Whoa, you weaved across the whole roundabout? What's up?"
Me: "I was using the correct lanes"
Him: "Why don't you just stay left all the way round? You're not overtaking anything and it's safer!"
Me: "How is it safer? The lanes are even marked for coming off the roundabout"
Him: "Somebody might pull out on you if you're not in the left lane"
Me: "So it's a problem if someone pulls onto a roundabout at [the second junction] and comes off [at the third junction]?"
