I want my wheels to be as they were originally, I think its called a diamond cut finish with a powder coating! I have been told a company called 'Precision Wheels' is my best bet, they are in Milton Keynes, anyone know them as cant find their number! Any other suggestions of companies that can do it in the Cambs/Beds area?

Cheers

Can't find anything on them in my bits and bobs, but RichardR used B.J.V. Engineering (www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk) in Hemel Hempstead, if that's any use.

Agree -

www.wheelrefurbishing.com

these guys have been recommended before - they delivery & collect too!

The diamond cut & lacquer option will restore the original finish - however this is not particularly durable - if you check RichardR's profile he had the powdercoating - you lose the black inserts on the spokes but it will last more than a year or so!

Milton Keynes
Buckinghamshire

Tel: 01908 282628

Had mine done at Spit and Polish as recommended on this forum. They said they used a powder coating lacquer - i still have black inserts

Hi Mike,

As Andy and Tim have said, B.J.V. will do the diamond cut and polish for you, and their free collection and delivery may well extend to your area. I'd also definitely recommend them (although obviously not specifically in relation to the DC&P).

However, I was originally going to go for the diamond cut finish on my wheels and ended up going for the powder coating after chatting to the guy at B.J.V., so I'd recommend that you give him a ring and talk it over with him. You can also find a bit more info on the pros and cons on my vehicle profile.

You must be near the bottom of your "Jobs to do on the TVR" list by now surely?

Cheers,

Richard

Thanks for the info Richard, I spoke with BJV earlier today and apparently they do a DC & Powder coat now, which is better. This way I will still get to keep the black inserts also. The collection service doesnt extend to my area unforunately, but I can drop them off.

'Jobs to do list' now that a never ending story! I am getting there though, I am slowly but surely replacing anything that is anything but spot on. Speaking of which, I have also just replaced my rusty headlight chrome rings with S/Steel ones which are a much better shape and of course wont rust!

Hopefully catch up soon and compare notes.

Steve, From a Mini site, I will have a look which one and let you know, I will post pics when I get chance. They are a slightly different shape to the old ones so need a little adjusting, but I think this is the same with all replacements isnt it?? I believe TVR rivoted the extra peice to enable them to fit the 'S' I stuck them on but just enough so I can get them off when needed!

Is that part diamond cut and part powder coating, or do they combine them somehow?
