Problem with E36 318is

Ok, posted this on a few BMW forums but not much joy.

Bought a 1999 E36 318is last year and when parked up with handbrake on and engine off the ABS & handbrake warning lights stay on.

The ABS doesn't seem to work either and the ASC (?) button near the gearstick doesn't seem to do anything. Are these things all linked?

Any ideas?

Could be,get a ABS diagnostic scan carried out 1st around £45 may give you some valuable info,don't go down with spot diagnostics and changing things for the sake of it.
