I came home from work early yesterday. Aching all over no temperature to speak of but shakimg/shivering and only just enough energy to climb the stairs. Slept for 12 hours solid (usualy 6-7) I still have an small appetite and cannot face beer/wine (a sure sign somethings wrong and not just fatigue)no cough, cold or stomach upset.

I thought "Flu" so took the day off today expecting to get worse, but although no better no worse either (I can pass the £50 on the floor test) and been couch/bed bound (god day-time TV pisses me off)

So Flu? or some non-specific viral infection?

Good effort. You will be a star on the "bring an unpleasant ailment to work day"

Sounds like a flu-like illness to me. Hard to specify actual influenza, very few health boards bother with virology tests unless you've got a very high temp.

And you probably did have a temp; that would explain the shivering.

I have it on very good authority that there is a 100% chance you'll die. Eventually.

Could be either maningitis or manthrax. Either would kill a woman. If it gets more serious, it's just man flu and you'll probably live.

Where did you get that from; I haven't seen a £50 note in years!
