Tag Heuer bracelet question

I wonder if anyone here can help? I have a Tag 200 professional, bi metal, with the shaped link bracelet.
The gold colour is beginning to wear off and one of the pins that secure the link close to the watch shoulders has, it is 4 links down from the watch itself, come out.
It is totally ,fair wear as I bought it in 2000 and its is almost never off my wrist.
I took it into one of the (many)TAG specialists here in Glasgow to ask about repairing the loose pin.
I was assured that the pin can`t be replaced and the only course of action is to replace the bracelet completely. I repeated my request at 3 other showrooms, only to be told the same story.
Frankly I find that hard to believe... and as a bracelet and fitting comes in at an eye watering £800
I would like to refurbish the bracelet if possible and my question is.... can a bi metal bracelet be refurbished and if so by who. If it can`t be refurbished surely someone can replace the missing pin!!
