I have never been out in Oxford for a night out in the 6 years I have lived in Oxfordshire, so could someone recommend somewhere to go, that a) isn't full of students, b) or chavs, but we could drink and possibly visit a discotheque of some sort. It is a 'lads' night out.

Is the prison place the best place to go?

The prison place is Malmaison. Lovely food and do some very good cocktails, but expect to pay a premium as they are fairly up-market boutique type hotels.

My best mate did a degree and masters at Oxford Brookes and knows a hell of a lot of good drinking places in town. I'll have a word with him and see what I can get for you.

Half the fun of going out in Oxford is going to Cowley Road and seeing such amazing things as the Jamaican place where the old fella will chase you out if you have a camera screaming about stealing peoples souls while his daughter runs after him, ordering something and not knowing exactly what it is at Atomic Burger and drinking brightly coloured cocktails out of jars while sitting in a Hawaiian grass hut thing at the chinese place next to the cinema.

That sounds like a really good trip.

Cheap drinks & cocktails, we went to the Swan & Castle beind the Westgate centre, good atmosphere, it's a Wotherspoons btw.

The Britannia, on London Road but can be quite noisy.

Woowoo club is supposed to be really good but never been there myself.
