Motivation, complete lack of
Discussion
Oh I can't be bothered.
What causes a complete lack of motivation? I think I drink a bit much but see this as a result of not a cause of. When I'm in work I keep getting really fired up and want to do stuff at home, but when I get home I just slump in front of the computer with a glass of wine.
I'll be dead soon (well in a few decades or so) so won't have to worry about it, but what a waste!

You need to define some achievable goals and work towards them.
Stop taking the path of least resistance, turn off the computer, turn on some good music and do some sit ups/push ups/what ever.
I get home after 12 hours of work, the easy way out is to sit in front of the telly for a few hours and feel like s
t the next day, watching your youth/health/liver fail.....but I don't I shake myself up, turn on the stereo and do 90 mins minimum on my indoor bike trainer.
You'll sleep better and look better within a few days.

I have this very same problem. Its starting to get me down now to the point where even things I used to enjoy I have no interest/motivation for. What causes a complete lack of motivation? Not sure what the answer is really.

Join a gym, and go after work before you go home... Eventually you will get into a good habit...What causes a complete lack of motivation? Thanks for the replies.
I think I need to add something else - In August 2009 I suffered a brain haemorrhage and lost the use and feeling in my right hand side. I don't say this for sympathy but whilst I can appear to walk all right now I don't have the ability to do much more than this.
This makes exercise other than walking difficult but appreciate that breaking the routine is as important, so that's what I'll try.
In the mean time I'll browse and finish this glass of wine.

Depression?
I'm on anti-depressants as part of the treatment for the haemorrhage (depression is quite common as a result apparently) but it doesn't mean that this is not a possibility but I'm not really wanting to up the dose if I can help it.It's been a good week in work which has made me feel a bit more sprightly in the evening, I just need to use that extra energy for something positive.
