I am considering buying a 2004 onwards gransport or 4200 but I have heard from a local specialist bodyshop that they are prone to rust. I haven't seen any discussions on the internet however there is a 2004 car for sale at the moment that acknowledges some rust spots within the advert. This may be due to poor accident repair.

Any views on whether they are prone to tin worm?

Not a particular problem, some note poor fitting of rear bumper and rubbing against body, a rare report around rear lights, but thats all.

Rear quarter panel below the lights is pretty common, water collects behind it. If it doesn't have it, it's been repaired smile

My 2004 GS has no rust. I've seen quite a few others, also with no rust. I guess the odd stone chip might cause a rust spot. The main water ingress area is in the boot for some cars, but the floor is plastic so no risk of corrosion.

From what I remember the rear panels fit too tightly so when they are fitted the surface of the paint can be skimmed off (non visible area). Once it gets wet the now exposed metal starts to rust.
