Time was when Autosport used to reliably drop through the mail box every Thursday...but not now.

Just had the weekend post and still no sign of "Thursday's" Autosport - this is not uncommon these days. Anyone else having the same problem ?

Yes that's just what's going on with me,I might as well cancel it now because by the time I get it through the door (Saturday or Monday most weeks) I've read most of it for free while popping in to newsagents and shops smile

I have had this problem too. I could understand during the snow etc. but it still seems to be happening. I am thinking about cancelling my subscription.

My first issue in January failed to turn up at all frown

E-mailed Autosport, problem resolved, subscription extended as well.

Other than that every Thursday no problem.

Got an online sub for christmas, not heard a thing or got the promised free gift. Dropped them a line and it took them 4 days to respond, still nothing. I'm going to cancel now

A couple of years ago it always arrived on a Wednesday. Now it sometimes arrives on a Thursday and a couple of times it hasn't arrived at all.

I've been a subscriber for years and frankly I'm fed up enough to simply cancel the subscription. I contacted them numerous times too and nothing has ever changed.

For over £100 a year, I'd expect a bit better to be honest.

Has anyone tried the 'digital' subscription for the magazine ?

At £3.20 / week, i.e. the same as the regular magazine in the shops and more than the 'paper' subscription price (in effect they're saying the paper for the normal magazine version is free, hence I'm not expecting any future increases in price due to 'printing costs' - yeah right !!), my thinking is 'get stuffed' but wasn't sure if there were any extras you got.

Likewise. I've had a couple of emails blaming Royal Mail but that's Just an excuse as none of my other subs, post etc has been delayed.

If it doesn't get any better when the circuit racing season kicks off they'll be losing me as a subscriber. Typical shoddy Haymarket service.

Last year I was getting around 75% of my copies so on average once a month would have to call up and complain, gave up in the end and cancelled the subscription.

Took out a new subscription in November and it's been good so far.

I've found service has been sporadic at best. Not upset enough to cancel though - been reading it since I could first understand words so it'd be like losing one of my fingers.

yes I have the digital subscription (digital only, so without paper copy: £66/year according to my subscription information) - get full access to the website and related data + download a pdf of the magazine (and it is a simple copy of the whole magazine... including adverts etc page by page).

Works for me as I'm out of the country so the paper copies were piling up for weeks before I got to read them and can now scan through the pdf instead, usually from first thing Thursday.

I have had problems with A/S delivery for several months. I am convinced that it's the Post Office's fault rather than the distributers - The PO seem to treat magazines as very second class mail. I have e-mailed A/S about it & we finally agreed that they would send my weekly A/S in a plain envelope rather than see through plastic wrapper. Guess what, it now arrives on time!!!

Monday lunchtime and still no "this week's" Autosport.

Spoke to subscriptions and they gave me the same answer - ie with Xmas and the snow Royal Mail prioritised letters/parcels and treated all magazine deliveries as 2nd class - seems pretty scandalous to me as the subscriber is effectively paying for 1st class delivery...

Anyway they are going to try the plain brown envelope trick (memo, must explain to wife)- I'll let you know how I get on.

Thanks for that. Price is rather less than they're suggesting on their website too (they're saying it's an introductory offer of £2 / week, normally £3.20, but at £66 per annum that starts to make a bit more sense.

Might consider that when I get round to an iPad.

I should have added that my renewal is due in April apparently, so could be prices have changed since I set it up + it is quite tricky to see the subscription rates on the website once you have one!

just rechecked, since it occurred to me that it was a 2 step thing: it is: £66 for Autosport digital + Autosport.com @ £46

or something like that

Just a quick update - the issue from 2 weeks ago never turned up - so that's 2 lost in the last 6 weeks. I spoke to Autosport who promised to send out last week's edition in a plain Jiffy bag - it duly arrived 2 days late in the usual transparent packaging.

This morning (Thursday) I have received this week's issue on time in a Jiffy bag - probably the first time that I've had a chance to read Autosport on a Thursday in 3 months or so. So let's see whether this will be a permanent fix - if so it would seem that the Post Office are guilty of automatically treating magazine deliveries as 2nd class post (or taking them home to read?)...

I have certainly had no problems with late delivery in the l;ast few weeks since A/S started sending out in plain jiffy bags!

Canceled mine around 3-4 years ago, I had the same problem, it was frequently turning up on Monday Morning, rendering it pretty useless!!
