Zetec engine number

Bought a crashed and written off 2001 (I think) Focus last summer and a buddy transplanted the engine into my kit car and jolly fine it is too.

Thought I ought to tell the DVLA and the insurance company about the change but I can't seem to find the paperwork for the engine number or reg number of the car which has long gone to the scrappy along with the V5.

Anyone know where I'll find the engine number on a 2 litre Zetec engine please?

Finding the engine number is the least of your worries.
DVLA will want to see a reciept for the engine and may even want an engineers report that the stated engine number has been installed.

Don't know where the number is but most likely on the top face of the block somewhere wher the cylinder head does not cover the divide line.
