I didnt see a single car there with an aerokit when I did the GTS day a few weeks ago
Fabulous cars though, the manual was superb
nasty weather, wet, slimy roads, lots of wind.
but phenomenal traction, wonderful grunt and just lovely steering feel.
comfortable too, and suprisingly compliant ride.
engine, even if PSE on, is too quiet.
Could not get on with the PDK, especially around town. On fast A roads, fun to use. For me though, took the 'interaction' away.
demo had standard interior, rear seats looked like plastic.

No chance of a 5 figure discount I would say - that would make it cheaper than a standard carrera. I'm very tempted as is. 991 will have a big jump up in price anyway, if the rumours are true but totally understand where you're coming from.And a whole lot more expensive.

For me this is a 4 seat GT3 and therefore my ideal motor. If it works out that I can afford one, I'll definitely get one!

The reason I don't use OPC Mid-Sussex is for the fact that I have dealt with the same sales guy at OPC Tonbridge since I had my 993 from him in the mid-1990s (subsequently moving over to this part of the country in later years) and have built a good relationship with him over that time. The deal offered was a transparent and fair one and I appreciate the sincere and no-bull**** service and back-up that I receive every time. I dealt on a two-year Porsche PCP (guaranteed future value) scheme where the final payment was set or walk away making the GTS way better on the monthly payments than any of the other makes I looked at (Maserati Granturismo (ouch), Audi R8)and not an arm and a leg more than an M3. The part-exchange figure for my old C2S was spot on and am pulling some equity out of its value to invest in other avenues. I have my name down for a new 911 (998/991?!) when the time comes. So basically I can enjoy myself in a new GTS (which is a bloody awesome machine) for two years, know I can hand it back and take delivery of a new 911 at the end with minimal pain. I am far too tight to throw money away and a 911 keeps making sense to my head and my heart and Mrs James-T (my accountant who really doesn't understand men and cars)! I'm just looking forward to getting the new one on my drive, a good summer and some photo opportunities!

Yep, two years will see most of the new 911 models launched so should work out just right when it comes to change. The interest rate on the PCP was about 9.5% APR with the guaranteed future value. I could get a lower APR if I didn't want the GFV but wanted the peace of mind that it gives and Porsche's GFV was higher that any similarly priced other make making the payments quite 'sensible' in the bigger scheme of things! If you're thinking about doing it just go for it as you only live once, you can't take it with you and the missus will get around to 'understanding' one day....
