My 2003 3.0 Z4 went in to have a supplementary amp and new speakers installed yeaterday,a routine job you'd think. The installers rang me late last night to tell me that it was all finished, however the car wouldn't start and there was a warning light on the dash.I'm assuming that they've somehow activated the immobiliser.I'm assuming it can be re set,any ideas on how to achieve this?I truly hope they haven't fried anything in the car's electrics.

These have transponder immobiliser, so they are activated and deactivated by the ignition key, so unless something had happened to the ignition key, or the reciever unit mounted around the ignition barrel, can't see how they could have 'activated the immobiliser'.

Try the spare key see if that sorts it, in the first instance, in the second get a code reader on it and see if that brings up any codes.

All fixed, the muppets hadn't connected all the connectors onto the battery.

Just out of interest which speakers did you replace mate - footwell and tweeters? And what kit did you install? Big improvement over stock?

I'm thinking of upgrading the sound system in mine.
