Solution Required - Creaking Seats Rubbing on Roll-over Cage

I have had my T350C since new ('03) and as I am 6ft + my preferred driving position is with the seat far back and fairly reclined. This means the (Lamonta) seat rubs on the cage at the top and hip areas. I have tried numerous fixes; silicon gel, silk cloth, cheesecloth, baseball hat peak (!) between the touching areas but none work for long and are inellegant solutions. I know I could opt to move the pedal assembly forward but fear this would compromise the correct hand to gearlever position.

Has anyone else suffered from the same issue and have you found a permanent and sightly solution?

I stuck a small fabric pad to the roll bar padding - the kind you stick to the bottom of chair legs to stop them scraping the floor.

Edited to add: If you have removed the washers to level the seats like I have then the seat top is even closer to the trim. If I ever get a re-trim I plan to have the top corners of the seat adapted to give more clearence.

Can you remember where you got them because I expect there will be many kinds on the market each with different surfaces and I want to get the one that definitely stops the noises!

This is another thing on the list for me, when I get them trimmed the seats will have the edges shaved to stop this, I had a look in Braders sag and his seat tops are definately smaller and don't rub.

It's not just the tops. Mine rubs just above waist height as well!

I just used the type you can get from John Lewis - the larger version, I guess for table legs. They sell them at most DIY stores.

your eyes are not deceiving you the tops are smaller to stop having to put washers under the outer runner to stop the rubbing. they were affectionately known as the teddy bear seats in the factory,only fitted to some late T350s and early sags,then some bright spark (whos name i wont mention) at the factory decided to put tuscan seats in every bloody thing. hope this helps?

Yes, as I said above they are different, I was talking to Jason (Str8six) at the BSG about them and he told me the Sags were a different shape so I went and had a look at Braders and his don't rub on anything.

Found some anti-slip self-adhesive felt pads in B&Q - £2.58 for one sheet of small and one of large diameter pads. Seem to do the job but have yet to go for a long run.

That reminds me to put that back on my list of jobs to do, though clearance at the current lean is already tight so I'm not sure what sort of effect it will have.

a little late reply here I know but I used the soft side of sticky velcro (other hook and loop fasteners are available ;-) works a treat and you get it in different colours and lengths.
