Budget is approx 100k, narrowed it down to either:

A. 58/09 Ferrari F430 Coupe
B. New Audi V10 R8
C. New Masser GT S with all the options

I know C is more GT but the sound it makes is wonderful and might make up for it (Alfa 8C still overpriced so not in equation)

I gues it's between F car and the well regarded Audi

Without being too biased - what advice can you offer, enlightened ones... ?
Thanks

drive all and see what gives you a buzz. i test drove 430 spider back to back with gt-s and they are totally different but both very good. cant comment on the audi. with 100k i would consider a 599 for 20k more also

note tom hartley have a 60mile only gt-s for 90k, looks fab

All are very different cars, depends what you want to use them for. I run a GT-S and it is an amazingly useable car, very practical (rear seats really are able to take full sized people) and I have taken the family to the south of France in it 2 years in a row with no complaints from the back. That said it is not as extreme as an 430 but would not wish to drive to SoF in a 430! Haven't driven the R8 but does not float my boat, although by all accounts very good. Maser with 3 year warranty and 2 year servicing is a great ownership proposition. Good luck.

Head says R8, heart says 430. Agree on the comment on the 599 though

360 Challenge Stradale. If your list of 3 can extend to 4.

Not as new (or as modern) as your trio, but would be the best investment (if value for money is an issue).

I'l be in a similar position in the summer and have looked/am looking at the same options. I don't need any practicality as it will be a weekend car and I'm yet to drive these cars but in theory this is how it's looking.

1) Audi R8 V10 is top of my list. Audi build quality and reliability, my favourite car on the road - could push for a Spyder.
2) Aston Martin V12 Vantage. Great car, have been out in one at Millbrook, already have 2 Astons in the garage so no real special feel.
3) Ferrari F430. Old model and feel owning a ferrari could wear thin. Would rather spend £15k on an Ecurie 25 membership and have a different supercar whenever I want.
4) 997.2 Turbo. More of a daily drive than weekend car for me, to be discontinued very soon.
5) Aston Martin DBS - Same opinion as V12.
6) Bentley Supersports - 59 plates will hit £100k soon...

A few more options to consider at least. If early manual LP560's hit around £100k anytime soon that would be my choice.

Very similar list - Thanks. Would you go LP560 manual over the Audi V10 if priced the same? Would that experience not prove similar to the Ferrari experience?

Yea I would go for the Lp560 over the R8, for me I think owning a Lambo would be a different experience to the Ferrari. Although I have no experience with either brands so it's just speculation. I guess I would feel happier having the LP560 in the garage on a permanent basis as it's a new(er) model as well, compared to the F430 anyways - also less depreciation? I haven't really looked into it enough as there aren't many early manual cars around.

My advice is add option D: 2010 GT3 RS.

Then drive all and end up buying D. wink

Why not?

The 430 Spider I drove was a great cruiser and with the carbon seats very comfy for long distances.

Lack of luggage space aside it makes a great GT for extended driving IMO

430 has oodles of space!!! Try it in a Gallardo!! Amazing how little you need for a fortnight around Europe.

Like you said, you've no experience of Ferrari or Lambo, if you did you'd realise how wrong that statement was biggrin being the old model isn't that relevant when a 458 is double the OP's budget.

To the OP why not save yourself a few quid and get on 06 or 07 430, they really didn't change that much through the life of the car and they all now come with 2 year warranty if approved used, and 430 would be and was my choice, amazing car!
