idle speed

Just finished a body off restoration on my s1, only problem is the car idle speed. The wormer the car gets the faster it idels, after running for 10 minutes it is at 2000 rpm.
Anybody got any thoughts, as i did not touch anything to do with fuel etc.
The other problem is it starts to splutter after 3000rpm when driving.

Gets my vote. When I ran with my TP disconnected for a while, the car idled at around 1500rpm.

Good question! Without the EFI, does it have an ECU?

Nope.

My guess would be either:

Problem with the thermo time switch, warm up regulator or auxiliary air device.. does the problem go away if you take it for a spin..?
