Hi all

I'm just about to start putting my new kitchen in and I fancy some plinth/kick board lights.

I was wondering how people trip them on motion sensors so they come on as you walk past and can you over ride them so that they're on perminatly?

Also what do you use. I was considering GU10's with LED units inserted. But I was really hoping for a smaller discreet way of doing it.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

I've done something similar, and it's not as expensive as you think.

I used these lights (pretty good for the price)

couple them with a home easy remote socket and PIR detector and you've got lights that come on when someone enters the room, and you can configure how long they stay on.

It's not your really expensive home automation setup, but it works well enough for me!

I've got the same seal ones, hard wired, on a 2G switch, one is the main lights, one is the plinth and soon to be cupboard ones.
They look good, although very rarely use them!

Will take a pic if you want

Kitchens a High gloss cream with a cream tile and purple tiled splash back and walls bottoms. Theres not much lower wall so in aid of it lasting the base is all tiled.

Here is my lights, although they look blue in the light, they are white - the colour on my phone isn't the best, but they should give an idea of what they are like.

I have something similar to that chain, goes round all the base and wall units hidden behind the plinth. Costs peanuts to run but looks great.
