I've been reading the e90 prices plummeting thread with interest as we are thinking of selling our BMW 330d M Sport Touring. The only thing is I can only find one other car in the whole of the UK with a similar spec but millage is 3k compared to our 43k.

The car will be 2 years old in April, and would cost over £41k if ordered with the same spec today according to the BMW configurator.

It's a LCI E91 M sport in metallic black with full leather and full prof sat nav, manual gearbox, and a few other extras such as DAB, heated seats, auto dimming folding mirrors.

The one for sale is with a BMW dealer for £35k but only 3k miles so what do you think ours is worth?

Thanks in advance.

A year ago I picked up an October 2009 E91 M Sport in Space Grey, Prof Nav, Panoramic Sunroof, Terracotta red leather, heated seats, adaptive headlights, USB, Ipod adaptor, Auto box with paddles. Mileage was 4k. Price was £31K from BMW dealer. List price was £42k, so £11k (25%) less than list in just 3 months.

I'd say around £20k - UA with ~40k are selling at around £22500.

An '09 with over 40k is rare because that's a lot of miles in a short time (most '09 have less than 20k), and with BMW diesels the price seems to be more dependant on spec and mileage rather than year.

The closest I could find were '08 with 46k @ £22,850, and an '08 with 36k at £23,850, and these are UA prices. Private sale price will be less.

It is AUC really I think but many use UA instead.

So both prefacelift cars and not comparable.

I take it then that actually you can't find a car like his for £22.5k as an AUC.

These will both have the old Idrive system (only 2 buttons) and the old engine (alloy head iron block) producing less BHP.

On another note something that gets my gaot is Diesels are designed to do high millage, (thats why we bought a diesel) but people still expect them to have low millage. This will mean short journeys, which will fkup a diesel engine quicker than Wayne Rooney can pull a granny!

true but if your looking to buy a diesel and add miles to it you ideally want to start low. Some care less though.

Whats the 245bhp unit like + why manual... its super rare for a very good reason

More urgency is the best way I can put it - it is totally superb. I have used the previous 2 3.0d engines in 5 series and the newest is easily the nicest. The last two I didn't really notice any difference whereas this one I did ...

How about fuel economy? I know manuals get a few more mpg than auto but yours should be 50mpg combined lovely

IIRC 50mpg combined (or thereabouts) is the figure for the LCI 330d Manual.

It is a brand new engine. The 231bhp is the last of the M57B30, introduced way back in 1998. The 245bhp engine is the new N57B30, introduced in 2008.
