After over a year of looking I finally found one. Not the V6 Tuscan I was after but a beautiful '71 Vixen 2500. I've had it for a couple of months but never found the time to post. I drove it down from Scotland to home (Cheshire) before Christmas and it didn't miss a beat (same couldn't be said about the Tamora I once owned). 370 miles of driving pleasure.

Wow, thats lovely.

I'm just reading John Tiplers Illustrated History and finally understand some of the ways to recognise the classics.

One day I will have something from the 60's (all the best things were made in the 60's) wink

And here it is about 1993/94. A well looked after car and that engine always sounded fantastic with the triple twin chokes.

Hey Phil, that's a lovely looking car. I hope you'll be very happy together. I think she was excellent value at the asking price (£9,900) if I remember correctly. Reckon you shouldn't see any future depreciation which will probably be a refreshing change also compared to a Tamora.

Bernies old car. its good to see a vixen in another colour which isn't yellow, red or orange. i think the colour makes it look very classy.

Nice one Phil, i have also been looking for a while and not sure i remember this one, where was it advertised? That said i am still after one a bit cheaper (if the last thread asking price is right) that requires work or finishing and this looks really nice and ready to go so good luck.

Thanks for all the very positive comments.

The car was advertised very briefly on the TVR car club website and I think in one issue of Sprint. I had a long conversation with Bernie before I decided to fly up to Scotland to look over the vixen. I'm hoping (when the weather improves) to bring the car along to the local TVR car club meet to requiant her with former friends. I should say Stuart who last owned the car was a real gent and really took care of her. The car is in very good condition but it is an older restoration so needs a little TLC here and there, but nothing major.

Phil
We spoke briefly about the Vixen as I live locally to Stuart
Nice to hear from you again
Very well cared for TVR with a first class pedigree of previous owners
You will have years of pleasure with that one !
Enjoy & regards

I saw the ad - loved it - couldn't afford it and tried to convince myself that I really wanted a 4 pot (can't afford one of those either but in the words of the Jonny Cash song - one bit at a time!) You have a really lovely car.
