It was built by McLaren, to test the running gear of the SLR, whilst keeping the body shape away from the lens snappers.

Hi Mark,

McLaren used two Cerberas as drivetrain mules during the early stages of the SLR development programe. I believe (but can't be sure) the two cars were known as Huey & Duey, and were destroyed/crushed after their role had be fulfilled.

My manager at work came to us from McLaren and when I told him of my intentions to buy a Cerbera he barated me! I am happy to report that since he's spent some time around my car his tune has changed and admits that it's actually a spot on mota!

Friend on my mine is a chassis engineer in F1 having worked at McLaren, Ferrari and now at Williams. He did find my previous (or one before?) amusing and did find the set up a little bit crude. He used to laugh at my cars damper action and so forth being so soft and bouncey albeit it was set up by a cerb expert.
