A friend is having a stag weekend in Krakow at the end of March over 3 nights. Flights are cheap and the accomodation/activity packages seem decent value as long as the numbers are right. I'm interested to know if going out in Krakow is as cheap as I keep hearing? Personally I think 3 nights is too long but, I could always be boring for a night and have a quiet one!

Any input appreciated as I've never been to Poland before so not sure what to expect.

We went for a stag weekend last summer. It's not particularly cheap. It's cheaper than the UK but not by much. Prices vary alot depending where you drink and what you drink. Local vodkas and beers are reasonably priced but not 'cheap'. If you're after cheap drinks I would recommend Prague, or one of the newer stag locations in Eastern Europe.

Having said that, Krakow is a great city. The central square is great for sitting outside, drinking a cold beer and watching the many beauties walking by !

Was there last week & in Dec. Whilst undoubtedly it's a fabulous medieval city in the summer at this time of year its very very bleak. Last week it was -7 most day & the beautiful gals along with everyone else is well wrapped up against the cold. Everywhere is dull, grey, splattered with grime from the snowy pavements. The sq is almost empty, unlike the summer when it's a sea of cafes. It's foggy, grey & bleak. In the summer is another story, March should be better. In local bars beer is just under £2, if you go to the chains, such as Hard Rock, not much cheaper than home. For stag do's people were saying more expensive than local English towns,310 entry, £4 for a beer, pestered by the gals to buy em a commisioned drink, apple juice was £30+ You are spoilt for choice for bars & food, down every alley something is happening.
