In addition to Adrian Flux, listed at the top of the page, any other suggestions for insurance for my 4.6 P38.

I'm currently paying about 600 which I thought was quite a bit for a 3rd car. I live out in the sticks and am paying the same for as my Lotus and Audi

Thanks

My old P38 DSE was insured through Admiral for around £280 fully comp. Would have been due for renewal quite recently but has been sold.

I've just renewed mine.

DL wanted £596 to renew. Pah! smile

Go-compared it and went for Lancaster/Highway 4*4 at £248, albeit 3rd party with 5000 miles limit. Could have gone fully comp for an extra £50 but didn't bother.

Ask Footman James if they do a classic policy with limited mileage.

frank pickles for me, 200 odd for disco with all mods, it does have to have mods to be insured, so good excuse to stick some on!

Are you named driver on any other policies? We struggled to get decent cover on a 2003 Defender 90. The wife has her Civic with Direct Line, and they let you earn a NCB as a named driver, so we got a decent deal using that for the Defender (otherwise we were insuring with no NCB).

I must be a poor profile for Land Rovers. Cheapest I can get is nearly £550. and Lancaster were £750+

Couple of old SP30s must be doing it I guess.

Thanks anyway guys

I'm worse mate.

£1200 last year! And that's only for 10 months.

Having said that I went with Admiral, who were one of 2 companies who quoted less than £3K for me (the other quote being £2800).

I never thought they'd be best, but a young driver with no no claims and a big-arse engine seems to be their speciality.

These guys have been cheapest for SWMBO's P38 for the last couple of years. Just over £200 FC.

I've got my 1991 Defender 200TDi down to £115 fully comp with a limited milage of 300 miles as a second car with Adrian flux - and it allows off road use which some don't and some mods. Insured for me and wife - I am 43 and my wife if 30ish!!
