Seattle to Las Vegas in 3 days

We booked with Avis and it was about $270 unlimited mileage and we get the car for 10 days overall which I thought was quite a good deal

For San Fran to Portland in May Hertz were our best price. All the others had too high a one way fee to be competitive.

Just to add Seattle to Vegas in 3 days is quite a drive!

Yep its the one-way/drop fee that makes it quite pricey. Just got a online quote from Hertz for £384 from San Fran to Seattle airport for 7 days. That included an approximate desk charge of £204 mainly made up of the 'drop fee' as Hertz call it. This was for a Nissan Xterra.
