Ever worked for DHL Domestic?

A leaflet was passed to me the other day and wondered if this was a good temporary role? Need to make a call to the name on the leaflet and whilst I will get the company line, are there any specific questions to ask to get the real job info?

Using your own car to deliver parcels locally, will need fuel and potentially a change of insurance to comply. Do you only get paid once for a parcel delivery? What is the first time delivery percentage?

I'd steer clear, used to deliver to the self employed couriers basically 3-7 sacks of mail they could turn up any time or come a bit late etc and you'd get 65p a delivery you will be able to make most of them from what i saw but 10 an hour is a tall order plus you have to think about wear and tear on your car etc.

The whole reason for DHL domestic is the ability to make the deliveries when the customer is at home, i.e. evenings and weekends, when the regular couriers are tucked up at home, The B2C (business to consumer) is notoriously unprofitable when compared to B2B (Business to Business), which is why it is farmed out to 'private' couriers.
You get paid for one delivery, regardless of whether you have made three trips out to deliver it, if you return the parcel as undeliverable you don't get paid for it at all. You represent DHL, and therefore are in the front line for all the st that joe public can hand out, even though it won't be your fault that the parcel is late, damaged, incomplete or the wrong goods, and DHL are, frankly, a stty company to work for.
Your paperwork must be absolutely, completely, totally, 100% perfect or you don't get paid either.
