Wiring Diag for Heater ECU
Discussion
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the internal heater ECU pins? Just had the ECU refurbed and now it works but only for 50 seconds before the fan stops, but if you turn it off at the fan speed control leave for more than 1 minute then turn it back on, it works for another 50 seconds. Any ideas? I have had the usual burnt out pin hard wired.

That is exactly what mine does. I would be very interested to know how you fix it. I cant find my ecu thoughit seems to change, mine is near the door side but others say the tunnel side. It is right behind the carpet and held up with velcro, it might be better hidden on yours. It dropped down that is why I knew it was there. If you look at the first photo, it was taken upside down facing up and the box is right by the black pipe. There seems to be a gap for it to fit in.
Dry joint is where the solder isn't connected where the boards are connected or the components are joined to the board. When the fault occurs does it always last for exactly the same time? The only other reason may be a component fault on the board or a wiring/connector fault. What was it refurbed for?
Can you swap with another ECU to check the ECU? Interesting that Blueg33 has the same fault. I don't know the ECU well enough to know what else is on the circuit maybe a relay, I wish there was a wiring diagram for these cars make life easier.

Not yet, keep meaning to go but I coach rugby on Sundays and Sats are taken up with the kids etc. Got the bonnet off at the moment and found a couple of stray wires that weren't taped up or connected :-( have to find out what they are for! Meant to check the valve clearances and give the cams etc a check. List of things currently to do before summer :
Valve Clearances
Chassis check
Refit anderson socket
wheel nuts
amp cable
hoover
refit carpets
clocks
door trims
mats
tyres
power cable
clean interior
HID kit main
belt covers
steering wheel
door panels
refit stereo cage
b pillar panels.
