I want solid pine instead of moulded doors. I've looked at B&Q and Wickes where they both have pretty cheap knottty pine doors, but they get some bad reviews and seem to suffer warping.

Anyone found anywhere reasonably priced for such doors?

I've always found savoydoors.co.uk and doorstoresonline.co.uk rather good.

I've fitted half a dozen of the Wickes ones. No warping but make sure you seal the knots, the resin WILL bleed through.

(Do not ask me how I know this).

A few years ago and after quite a bit of research, we ended up buying ours from Homebase - much to my surprise. I've fitted around 15 of them now.

Don't go for their "Knotty" doors, as however much you try to seal them they will show through after a few years, you need to go for the £50 "Colonial" ones. I'd also buy them in the shop, and check each one carefully first, as they damage quite easily before they're painted.

If you keep your eye out for their next sale, you'll probably be able to get 10-15% off.

A tip to avoid the doors warping - Leave them in their celophane wrapper until the last minute, then un wrap and cut to size (if necessary) and paint as soon as you can. I've found that if you unwrap them and leave them to acclimatise for a few days they always warped. Well they did with me anyway!
