Video Files are Stagnant

Having been a member since before the takeover, we used to have a really strong video footage uploading activity, but now this seems to be frozen in time.

Is there a way to reignite this activity, or are there darker forces at work (copyright, storage of files, etc.) that are stopping this from happening?
