MK1 Downpipe removal

Has anyone on here removed and changed the downpipe on their MX5 before?

I am trying to get mine changed, as iti s rattling and i am fitting a smaller CAT, and a new exhaust with that aswell. The only problem I have is getting the downpipe off is a right pain, and i cant quite get two of the bolts holding the downpipe to the manifold off, so if anyone has done it before and has any type please let me know

I did mine, with a socket set with a really long reach on the one you cant get too.

If you are fitting a smaller cat, i assume you have the correct down pipe for you new cat?

Yeah got a downpipe and cat from the same car, so both will be 370mm.

I have tried with the socket set about 30cm of extender bar and a universal joint but it seems I just cant quite get a decent grip and swing on the two that are stuck
